Raymond Wong is a New York based pianist. His recent appearances include solo, chamber, and collaborative performances in Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Hall and Stern Auditorium, and performances with The Juilliard Orchestra under the batons of Alan Gilbert, Marin Alsop, and Leonard Slatkin. He has been featured in The New Yorker Magazine, The New York Times, International Pianists Magazine, WQXR New York Classical Radio, and the CBC Canadian National Radio and Television. Raymond has been praised for his “attention to detail and artistry… electrifying performance of the ‘you had to hear it to believe’ nature.” (Virginia Gazette), and his playing has been described as “pure elegance and magic” (New York Concert Reviews). As a soloist, Raymond has won The Seattle International Piano Competition, New York Concert Artists, Artists International, The Prague International Piano Competition, among others.
This past December, Raymond completed his Doctoral degree in Solo Piano from The Manhattan School of Music. His dissertation, on “The Celestial Circus”, was a piece written for him in which he gave its world premiere at Lincoln Center in March of 2014. While completing his dissertation, Dr. Wong enrolled in the Masters of Collaborative Piano Program at The Juilliard School.
