Link Up guides students in grades 3–5 through a yearlong exploration of orchestral repertoire and music making. This year, we are excited to announce the return of a newly revised version of Link Up: The Orchestra Moves, which explores how composers use the orchestra to create musical movement. Students will analyze and interpret how music moves through meter, melodic patterns, and expressive qualities. Repertoire includes works by Beethoven, Márquez, Bizet, and a new commission by Angélica Negrón! At the end of the year, students will sing and play the recorder with a professional orchestra in a culminating concert in Carnegie Hall’s Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage. Concerts will take place on May 21, 22, and 23, 2019.
